The hubby and I camped with his friend David last weekend. I hated that Laura couldn’t make it, but the three of us and their kids had a great time!

David showed off their camper and offered us grilled cheese upon arrival. The first night we mainly just chilled and sipped on adult beverages around the fire. Buddy came with us and seemed to enjoy the change of pace.

The following morning, David busted out the inflatable kayaks. I was skeptical initially, unaware that each kayak comfortably housed two adults. Keegan and I didn’t want to wait on shore with Buddy while the other kayaked, since neither of us had tried it before. So, we gently placed Buddy between us and hoped for the best.

Buddy surprised us all by curling up on the towel and falling asleep! We expected him to jump ship, since he’s not very fond of water. But maybe he didn’t, because he feared the water to begin with. Either way, the lake was a great place to try kayaking; it was easier than trying to navigate a river. Now that we know how affordable kayaks are, we’ll be investing in these instead of paddle boards.

Once we left Dowdy Lake, we headed back towards Greeley for a date night–something we haven’t done in a while. I introduced Keegan to Carl’s Canteen in Loveland featuring Made Rite burgers. Afterwards, Keegan treated us to Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which was awesome! All in all, we shared a wonderful weekend together. I’m so grateful to have someone who enjoys the same hobbies, someone that I can get outside with.

And with that, my blog is finally caught up! Holy moly, this never happens. I’ll have more to write once my family leaves, but in the mean time, I can’t wait to see everyone in the next few weeks!!
