A client in my cooking group passed away unexpectedly Tuesday morning. She was very sweet, caring and friendly. Her sudden passing came as a shock to those of us that knew her well at North Range and her roommates at the group home. I’ve had several clients pass through the years, but this one left a lasting imprint on my heart.

After the other case managers and I received the news, I left the office to another client’s house. I was listening to KCSU FM and this random song started playing, and I started crying again. This tune sounded like the soundtrack of my life in that very moment. I couldn’t have stumbled across Stelth Ulvang at a more appropriate time. And if I’m not mistaken, he’s toured with the Lumineers. He’s by far the best musician I’ve discovered from Fort Collins.

My cooking group won’t be the same, but this Tuesday I’ll enter the kitchen for the first time since her passing. I can’t tell her name, as I have to respect confidentiality, but to the person that made the group so fun and entertaining, I think I speak for all of us when I say you will be sorely missed.
