I’ve taken self-care seriously upon returning to class two weeks ago. My efforts fall by the way side occasionally, but for the most part, it’s becoming a daily ritual. Between my full-time job and interning nonstop, self-care remains top priority, because no one can take better care of me than me.
I can’t capture everything on my phone, like intimate moments with my cat, blogging late at night, Pinterest binges or that refreshing feeling after sleeping 11 hours. And just because I don’t snap one off every time I treat myself well doesn’t mean it’s not happening. What I’ve learned these last few weeks is to take time out for myself with the aim of feeling replenished–not to prove a point to anyone. The more often I take care of myself, the better I feel, and that’s what really matters.
