Closing on the house reminds me of the wedding: Just when you think we’re done posting pics or talking about it, something else pops up. We got in the house last weekend for the first time since we submitted an offer. Our inspection went well with minor repairs, and the sellers appear willing to fix the electrical issues in the garage and the hole in the fire wall. All that’s really left to do is review the repairs, complete the G-HOPE paperwork, e-mail our loan officer assistant a detailed description of our employment history from the last 5 year, confirm our home owner’s insurance, work out the deets with our appraisal, schedule a final walk-through, close and transfer our utilities. That’s not too bad, right?
We have ideas for most of our space. We’re aiming for a crisp, airy living room with Kelly green and mustard yellow accents and live plants. Nothing needs to be done with the kitchen, but we’re hoping to pull teal with burnt orange undertones into our family den downstairs, creams and nudes with texture in the bedroom, and all sorts of bright colors in our zen room, while will eventually be transformed into a nursery some day. Guest room decor is still up in the air, but we might use wallpaper for one accent wall, depending on how we feel after we lay sod in the back yard this summer, get our garden going and work on a separate rock garden near one corner of the perimeter. Can you tell we’re excited about our new place?!
Here’s some more pics for friends and family that asked about the house. Only three weeks left till we’re in our new place!!
